~Dearest Golden Boy~

Last night when we were texting and I told you that I care about you very much no matter what and you texted me back and said "I know you do" ...that was music to my eyes. It means everything to me that you believe this, because it's true. I love you, and I will be with you for as long as you want or need me to be. I don't care where your path leads or what we have to do to get you through to the other side. There is nothing more important to me in the world at this time than you, our friendship, and doing everything I can to see to it that you find the ultimate love, peace, happiness & acceptance in your life that I know you so deeply deserve. Please keep in mind something many of my friends and I have learned throughout our lives...

Family is defined by LOVE. Not guilt. Not obligation. Not blood.

As far as I'm concerned, you are like a brother to me now - not by chance, but by choice. I feel so thankful to have met you, and it's amazing to me how after only a few short weeks, I now can't even imagine my world without you in it. Maybe that's because your light just burns so brightly as you "stay golden" that as I am attempting to walk beside you along your path from the opposite side of the country, you are actually, magically & unknowingly, lighting my own path for me in return. For that, I am truly grateful.

Golden Boy, the dream is tangible because it is REAL. I promise. So hold on to it. Stay strong. Head held high. And please know that you are beautiful.
