Dear Amanda,
I don't believe I've ever told you "Thank You" for accepting me. I felt as if my appreciation for you was always implied. You were there for me when I fell out the closet at the age of 18, through the ups and downs.
I want to say thank you for loving me unconditionally and being there for me when I need you. Your simple acts of kindness mean the world to me, from watching me lip-sync my heart out in the mirror to Mariah Carey for hours on end, driving with me from Sacramento to LA to see Lady Gaga in the wee hours in the morning (just to make sure I wouldn't fall asleep at the wheel) or better yet watching me pretend I'm Beyonce. From having typical emotional upsets over boys or gluing on my ELF dramatic eyelashes for a photo shoot, you were there for me. Being only 14 years of age you carry the maturity of a young woman.
As Mariah Carey says, "Then a hero comes along, with the strength to carry on. And you cast your fears aside and you know you can survive" Amanda you are my hero and I'm beyond grateful for having you in my life and your everlasting support with everything that I do in life.
Love indefinitely your fabulous brother,
Jayér Laurent
